Probably the best Cuban food (short of the Columbia or my Cuban friend's mother's cooking) in Pinellas County. This place is a local favorite and has received numerous local awards, etc. This is not a fancy place, but man is the food good! I normally get the puerco asado (marinated roast pork) and my wife normally gets the bistec palomilla (fried flank steak in mojo sauce). The black beans here are some of the best I've ever had, the staff is friendly and they do a mean Cuban Sandwich for lunch. This place has been in business since 1975 and has built up a loyal following among the locals. I have several friends who have moved away. When they come home to visit, this is the first place they want to go. The best part is, you can have dinner for 2 for around $20. Most of the dinner entrees are around $7.99. Like I said, it's not a fancy place, but the tasty food and the generous servings more than make up for it!

Not bad. Food was pretty good. Service was hit and miss. Warning, don't bother with their flan - its one of the worst flans I've ever tried.

All around decent. Service appropriate dining area clean; Cubans rock, but media noche has shrunk to a kids size sandwich. Too much rice served with certain dishes. I remember the soup being better when I dined at the Tampa location.

We've tried a lot of Cuban places around the Tampa area and this one is the best. It does not look like much from the outside and even on the inside but the food is terrific and the prices are great. Great specials. We spent 11 days in St Pete and went twice.

Scrumptious, extraordinary, magnificent. Just to say a little about my fabulous lunch. Bistec De Lomo (ribeye steak grilled / onions) $8.95 This steak is seasoned with a delectable spice of some kind, I don't know what spices they were. It was SCUMPTIOUS!!! Thin, about 1/4 inch thick it had plenty on essence on the meat. Onions mild and in a little bit of, infused oil. Also on my plate was a little bit of oily saturated blend of herbs of some kind. Hey, I don't know exactly what kind of spices were used but it tasted sensational. Grilled Cuban bread went great with the oily herbs and steak n onions. Big order of yellow rice, and a full-size bowl of soup included. A most savory dish. Only one problem, when I go back and look at the interesting menu, I will always want to order this same dish again and end up bypassing many great other things they may have there. Highly recommend the, Bistec De Lomo. 5*****

The only reason it's not five stars? Because my Media Noche sandwich looked like it was kid's meal sized! Driving up 66th Street yesterday I came across the perfect place to stop for lunch. I've been to La Teresita in Tampa and was hoping this one would be similar. It is. I had a Media Noche, a Papa Rellena, and a Coke and my bill was right at $8. Plus, it was delicious! The sandwich was literally the smallest Media Noche I've ever had and I've been eating Cuban food for a long, long time. That said, I wasn't hungry at all afterwards, so maybe it's just me wanting more of that tasty sandwich. The Papa Rellena was perfectly cooked and was wonderfully flavorful with a nice slathering of added hot sauce. I'm not sure what restaurant this was before, maybe an Ihop or something, but there was plenty of seating. The cashier area is by the front door and the entryway was a little crowded when people were lining up to pay and others were coming in to eat, but that's nitpicking.

Ok, I come to St. Pete to see family and to eat. We don't have much Cuban in Portland so I try to enjoy it at least once every trip. La Teresita seems to fit my cravings pretty well. The prices are reasonable and the place is just cichy enough to fit my bill for a nice lunch. I usually have the bistec de palomilla. The cuban sandwich is good and so are the black beans. Of course I have to have tostones. This is a good place to get your fix at a reasonable price.
